Overview of the programs
Our curriculum incorporates holistic health and wellness elements and our program schedule allows our students to be in class only one full day or two evenings a week (depending on the class schedule and excluding weekend seminars, student clinic or outside classroom requirements). This is to help accommodate our students while working, allowing for family life, having enough time to accomplish everything required, and retain the material taught in class. Students choose a full-time 11.5 month option or a 23 month part-time option.
Students select an area they want to specialize in!
We offer three exciting program tracks. While all tracks offer a well-rounded, therapeutic education; selecting an area of interest provides you with the unique opportunity to focus on the specialty area of your choice. Upon enrollment, you choose the track you wish to enroll in.
Track: Therapeutic / Relaxation
In this track, the focus is on providing a firm foundation as well as a diverse offering into modalities specifically designed to produce relaxation and reduce stress. From the advent of massage, one of the primary reasons for its application has been the reduction of stress and the inducing of relaxation. By and large, one of the single most causes of “dis-ease” is stress in its multifaceted guises.
Track: Therapeutic / Medical
Massage therapy is growing in recognition to complement a variety of medical professions such as: medical doctors, podiatrists, dentists, chiropractors, and physical and occupational therapists. In order to respond to the growing demand for therapists adept at using clinical techniques and analytical reasoning through musculoskeletal pain conditions, we have designated an entire program to its study. In this track, students will learn assessment and treatment techniques to deal with common painful conditions encountered while working with other health-care professionals or in private practice.
Track: Therapeutic / Energy
For centuries, in a multitude of cultures, the healing of disease was treated not through the structure of the body (anatomy) but within the functional capacity of the person. These cultures looked at abnormal flow of energetic pathways as the cause of illness. In this track, the student will be exposed to treatment practices and principles from different cultural and traditional therapies to restore and enhance the flourishing of energy.
